Big Thanks

To Ketaki, for being my pillar of strength throughout this process.

How might we bridge the gap between the young and old Indian population through news media.

Background

In today's world, news is at the tip of our fingers, quite literally. Online platforms like instagram and twitter have made access to the latest happenings of the world extremely quick and easy. While most of the youth depend on their phones and laptops, a large portion of the older generation still wait for their morning newspapers as their source of daily updates, information, and entertainment. In this project, Ketaki and I explored this gap, the benefits and disadvantages of the existing newspaper system in India - it’s journey from pulp to print and beyond & it's shift to new digital media.

Results

As a result, arose a concept called CAFE KHABRI, which is an intersection between the young & the old, the newspaper lovers & the twitter addicts, the readers & the conversationalists - A place which bridges the gap between all news media, making being aware trendy, giving people a platform to voice their opinions, recycle newspapers and redefine their experience of knowing what’s going on in the world.
